Beyonce performs with her daughter Blue Ivy at dazzling Dubai concert

Beyonce took the stage at a special hotel launch event in Dubai for her first headline concert since 2018.

Billed as the world’s most ultra-luxury resort, Atlantis The Royal’s grand opening was joined by her 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, who performed a duet with Brown Skin Girl from her 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift. .

She opened her 90-minute set with Etta James’s At Last cover, captivating the 1,500-strong crowd with fan favorites like Crazy In Love, Naughty Girl, Halo, and XO. sky.

The 41-year-old actress, who took the stage in a yellow sequined dress with a sculptural feather cape, was accompanied by a full band, a Middle Eastern orchestra, and dancers dressed in red sequin outfits and full skirts.

On a set with an emphasis on songs that have rarely or never been performed live, the singer chose not to release any tracks from her latest album, Renaissance, which was nominated for two Grammys.

“There is a Utopia from all over the world on this stage and we are honored to be here to celebrate with you tonight,” Beyonce said.

“My family are here to celebrate tonight – mom and dad. My beautiful children are here to watch me and my beautiful husband perform.”

She then morphed into a red and gold bejeweled body with a voluminous tail and completed a third costume change with a red bodice mini dress with matching stockings and gloves.

The star was said to have been paid $24m (£19.4m) for the special concert, which featured celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Liam Payne, Ronan Keating, Rochelle and Marvin Humes and British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.

“We gave him creative control. It’s his art — we want him to express his art in his own way,” general manager Tim Kelly told the PA news agency before the performance.

“He doesn’t get a show out of the box because there isn’t a show in the box. You’ll get full throttle Beyonce.

When asked if it was difficult to secure the global pop star for the launch, Mr Kelly said, “It took a long time, but it also came together pretty quickly.
