Colin Farrell stunned the Golden Globes audience after he jumped out of his seat to lend a helping hand to Jennifer Coolidge to receive her award.

Coolidge won his first Golden Globe for his performance on the HBO series The White Lotus and caused laughter with his hilarious swearing-in speech that also ruined the ending of season two.

The 61-year-old actor stood up to receive his award, while Farrell, 46, showed his brave side and started walking for the award when he rose from his seat at a table with the cast of The Banshees of Inisher.

The Irish actor stretched out his arm to accompany the Legally Blonde star down the stairs and was caught funny standing in front of a man whose job it was to stage the winners.

Turning to Twitter to seize the moment, one viewer wrote: “Colin Farrell is helping Jennifer Coolidge take the stage… she’s such a real person.”

“For Jennifer Coolidge, gentleman escort Colin Farrell, that’s hot,” said another.

The third said, “Colin Farrell FORCED that man to help Jennifer Coolidge.”

As many noted in Farrell’s flirty exchange with Ana De Armas during her Best Actor acceptance speech, this isn’t the only moment during the star-studded ceremony that got people talking.

The Irish star, who got the gong for her role in the Martin McDonagh drama, told De Armas, 34, that her role as Marilyn Monroe in the biopic Blonde left her “to sleep crying”.

On receiving the award, Farrell said: “I thought you were extraordinary. The night I saw your movie Blonde, I cried until I fell asleep. I cried to sleep.

“There was something about the music playing as the shot opened and seeing her ankles on the edge of the bed. It ruined me so much.

“It’s no joke, but you can laugh. It’s not for me to say what’s appropriate laughter in this world.”

The swap caused many on social media to claim that the Hollywood star had “shot the shot” with the No Time to Die actress.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Is Colin Farrell trying to pick up Ana de Armas in this scene? Respect”.

“Colin Farrell is like all of us: he had a clear shot on Ana de Armas and he admitted/did his best,” another mocked.

Another commented: “Colin Farrell has gained momentum. Oscar is his. Using speech to yell at Ana De Armas’ wrists in Blonde is just yawning.”
