Graham Potter frustrated after Chelsea’s defeat at Fulham

Graham Potter admitted that he was fed up with Chelsea, who lost 2-1 to Fulham in the Premier League.

Chelsea have won just one of their last nine Premier League games.

Potter also insisted that his debut red card was not malicious after Joao Felix was ejected from the game for a hasty challenge to Kenny Tete.

The score was 1-1 when the 23-year-old was ejected after Kalidou Koulibaly threw the ball over the line to cancel former Chelsea winger Willian’s opener for the home side.

However, Carlos Vinicius’ header secured Fulham’s win and only their second win against Chelsea since 1979.

“It’s a really frustrating, incredibly challenging, difficult moment, I feel for the fans,” Potter said.

“We were disappointed that we lost tonight, I thought it was a relatively balanced game in the first half.

Joao Felix

“We’ve had a few good chances, but I think we can do the basics a little bit better in terms of our defense and our football moves.”

“At the same time, we’re back in the game and then the red card, we’re where anything can happen for us right now.

“Obviously we lost Denis (Zakaria) before, so we adapted and then Joao had a great impact on the game and you can see his quality.

“So, losing him and then losing three games is really disappointing.”

Felix faces three games on the sidelines to add to Potter’s long list of out-of-reach players.

The Portuguese international made an almost immediate impact with a clever wide play to set up Kai Havertz, and after a rebound the ball landed in Lewis Hall, but his shot was straight from Bernd Leno.

However, Potter doesn’t think they have any intentions in the challenge, which sees Felix being rejected.

“They will all be learning moments. Joao is a young player. “He’s the best player, you can see his quality and what he brings to the game,” said the Chelsea boss.

“I don’t think there was any malice in the fight, of course it was a bit high and then the referee has to make a decision… he (Felix) will learn from that.

“As I said, probably more than anything else, what the opponent did was fantastic (it was a situation) and key actions that could have been done better, and that’s what we needed to develop.”

Marco Silva was very happy to turn the tide against Chelsea (Andrew Matthews/PA).

The result put Fulham in sixth place, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United after a fourth consecutive win, and Marco Silva believes this is an important moment for the fans.

Overall I think it was a great night for our fans and they deserve it. “16 years without a win in this game and Chelsea’s dominance in games like this has been huge,” said Silva.

“We know they have completely different goals from us, they’re a huge club and their budgets are completely different – we can’t compare anything but we knew on the pitch we could balance our business, our strategy, our identity.” a little more and we succeeded.

I’m sure it’s a great night for our fans and they deserve it.”
