As we enter a new year filled with new trends and cultural “vibration shifts,” there’s one sight we can count on: celebs taking ultra-chic vacations on Instagram we stare bitterly at.
To kick off 2023, global pop star Selena Gomez threw a party with newly found “band” (not ours, her own words) Nicola Peltz Beckham and Brooklyn Beckham on a luxury yacht in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Although they’ve recently formed a friendship—the three first hung out at Gomez’s sleepover party last November for his documentary My Mind and Me—they quickly become trio besties. Case in point: They celebrated Thanksgiving together that same month and were later spotted visiting Nobu’s LA outpost in December.
Of course, ringing in the New Year is the ultimate display of intimacy – and PDA-fed photo dumps are practically inseparable, if anything to do with it.
Peltz captioned a photo of Beckham and Gomez wearing matching lipgloss on a yacht in matching white bikinis, with the caption “I love you so much”. Her husband seemed to respond with “I love you guys xx” in the comments.

The trio are joined by Gomez’s longtime best friend, author, and podcast host Raquelle Stevens, and her younger brother, Caleb P Stevens, a recent graduate from the University of Berkeley.
In 2018, Gomez was involved in dating rumors with Caleb after she was seen hanging out in New York and at Fleischmann. “They’re definitely just friends,” a source close to Gomez told People at the time. They don’t come out.
To further quell the rumors, Stevens invited his girlfriend, Lex Cortez, who posted photos on his Stories for his envious 1,300 followers.
Also in attendance are photographer Hunter Moreno, who has worked with the likes of Bella Thorne, Logan Paul and Tana Mongeau, and is a mainstay of Los Angeles’ social media phenom scene, and his partner Vanessa Tara.
The group uploaded photos of the newlyweds and Gomez swimming in the sea and having fun on the beach, showing that they have already blended their circle of friendship.

Thanks to A-listers blessing our feeds with countless photo dumps, we’ve gotten a glimpse of Mexican holiday hotspots. Arriving on December 28, the group spent their brief time in Mexico dancing on a private yacht overlooking the crystal-clear Pacific Ocean, playing with noodle float sticks, playing head-to-head in Jenga games, getting adorned by a makeup artist. Alysa Tan in the common make-up room and having a shrimp cocktail.
The famous flock went to the beach for the big night, where photographer Moreno caught them laughing candidly as they played with sparklers and shot a very candid video of the two newlyweds passionately kissing.

No VIP vacation is complete without headline outfits. New fashion besties Gomez and Peltz Beckham showed off their bond in a range of matching looks as they danced on the deck of the yacht, from all-white makeup to special New Year’s Eve outfits where the two wore identical sparkling silver, open-back Valentino dresses.
On both their social media, Gomez captioned a photo of the twin couple in bodycon dresses with the caption: “Thanks to @maisonvalentino for me and my angel dress! I felt like a fairy!”
“Happy Birthday 🥂🤠Thank you @maisonvalentino @yigit @pppiccioli for our matching dream dresses,” Peltz Beckham wrote.
In two images shared by Peltz Beckham, it was revealed that women’s names were embroidered on Valentino dresses with the year “2023”. Both stars have a deep history with the brand; Peltz Beckham is wearing a celebrity custom bridal gown at his widely announced wedding to Brooklyn Beckham last April, and Gomez is a regular in the luxury Italian fashion house’s designs.
They both took their harmonious holiday looks a step further by signing each other. Gomez shared a photo of the duo with an “angel” tattoo on their arms. While some may think this is a drastic measure for a two-month friendship, it’s actually a tried-and-tested bonding ritual for this former Wizards of Waverly star.
Alongside the “angel” tattoo, Gomez has a matching “4” tattoo with her vacation friend Stevens and matching rose tattoos with model/actress Cara Delevingne (“Cara calls me Rosebud, so it’s a nickname,” she explained last January. What’s more, Gomez also has friends with whom she hasn’t met, singers Julia Michaels and Francia Raisa, who she publicly fell out with in October after Taylor Swift said she was “his only friend in the industry” despite her longtime actress friend Raisa forgiving her. Kidney to Gomez in 2017.
