Both PlayStation and Xbox had a great year, thanks to solid new releases and loaded game subscription services. With so many generous ways to play, gamers will have spent hours on their favorite console over the past 12 months. Fortunately, you can take and share a snapshot of your one-year gaming event showing the games you currently play the most.
Here’s how to access the 2022 PlayStation and Xbox recaps.
What is the PlayStation 2022 Recap?
PlayStation’s Recap 2022 lets you view a range of PS4 and PS5 game stats that will continue to be updated through the end of the year.
You can also download and share a playing card with a summary of your yearly highlights. This includes your best game, hours played, games played, trophies earned and PS Plus games played, among other information.
PlayStation also rewards players who check all their stats with an avatar to use on their PSN profile. These avatars are shareable, meaning you can exchange your coupon codes for others to grab the whole set.
To access your conclusion, PlayStation says you must have played at least 10 hours on a PS4 or PS5 console between January and the end of the year.
How to get your PlayStation 2022 Recap
To get your PlayStation Recap, visit: 2022 Summary website and login to view your control panel (if you haven’t already). Here you will be able to check multiple statistics from different categories by clicking on the corresponding icons.
After viewing each episode, you’ll unlock an avatar that you can claim on PlayStation Store using your coupon code. There are several avatars available, codes that people have already shared on Twitter, and let you download them all.
You can get your 2022 Digest Summary card at any time by clicking the “share” button at the top right of the page. Here you will be able to download an image file, copy the URL or share a link directly to Twitter or Facebook.
How to get your Xbox 2022 Recap
While Xbox hasn’t released an official statement yet, avid gamers can grab an unofficial version that compiles your highlights for you to save or share online. This version comes courtesy of TrueAchievements, a website that tracks players’ game achievements and scores. You can do get it here By signing in with your Xbox Live details and creating a TrueAchievements account.
However, its unofficial status means it inevitably has some caveats. As mentioned, this is just an infographic rather than a deep dive into your game stats. Known as “#MyYearOnXbox”, the player card includes achievements earned, total Player Ratings, games played, hours played and your best game in 2022. In that sense, it’s actually very similar to PlayStation’s downloadable Summary of Summary infographic.
Another problem is that it only shows statistics for Xbox games you’ve started playing this year. So if your top game is one you started in 2021, it won’t be reflected in the list.
The good thing is that you can refresh the statistics by the end of the year by selecting the “click to rebuild” option at the bottom of your infographic. You can also download your card or share it directly to Twitter, Reddit or TrueAchievements.
Does Xbox do a one-year review?
Xbox had previously released a game highlight reel for known players, and it last appeared in the Xbox Year Review 2018. The company hasn’t said if it will bring the feature back this year, but time is running out if it plans to revive the feature.
More recently, it launched a metaverse museum to celebrate the Xbox’s 20th anniversary. Visitors to the site can guide their digital avatars around exhibits that showcase the progress of the Microsoft console, including videos on the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the latest Xbox Series X/S consoles.
There was even a personal collection that allowed Xbox owners to look at their own history. This includes the first game they played on certain consoles and the first time they signed into Xbox Live.
