When he encounters the Time Change Authority or TVA, we find him lost in a desert. It was brought to their center as a sort of bureaucratic nightmare of the 1970s.

TVA is an organization that exists outside the flow of time and controls the sacred timeline. When a change occurs in the timeline, they go to that point in time and “prune” mutable people out of existence by resetting events.

Loki is introduced to Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson), a caseworker for TVA who decides to recruit him to work for them under the guidance of the sinister Time Guardians, ancient beings who demand the protection of the timeline.

This choice brings Mobius into conflict with his longstanding and high-ranking friend, Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who prefers this variant of Loki to be pruned from existence.

Joining the TVA agents, Loki embarks on a mission to stop one of his variants, who kills the TVA agents and takes their timeline TemPads. Loki and Mobius conclude that this variant, a female version of Sylvie (Sophia di Martino), uses the charges to hide in various world-ending events like Pompeii to avoid detection.

Both Loki and Sylvie come to an agreement and decide to meet the Time Keepers, advocating for survival only to have Renslayer and his agents attack them.

Loki uses one of the TemPad agents to transport Sylvie and himself to Lamentis-1, a moon in 2077 that is about to be crushed by a planet. They fight forward, planning to board a ship, but the ship is destroyed before they reach it.

Sylvie reveals to Loki the fact that the TVA agents are all variants of real people on Earth whose memories have been erased. The two form a romantic bond, and Loki learns that Sylvie has been avoiding TVA since childhood. This link creates a timeline branch that TVA can follow. Mobius places Loki in a memory loop where he confronts his childhood friend Sif (Jaimie Alexander).

Meanwhile, Sylvie enchants Agent B-15 (Wumni Mosaku) to help her regain her past life memories. Mobius learns that a valuable TVA agent C-20 (Sasha Lane), who is said to be dead, is alive and claims he is a variant.

Believing Loki’s claims, he pulls him out of the loop. Renslayer prunes Mobius for his disobedience and takes Loki and Sylvie to the Time Keepers. There, Renslayer is told to wipe out both Loki and Sylvie, but the two fight the guards with the B-15 and defeat the Time Keepers, who turn out to be nothing more than androids.

Shocked, Loki is pruned by Renslayer. Loki is sent into a vacuum at the end of his time when he is confronted by other variants of himself. One is a presidential dictator (Hiddleston), a more majestic version of Classic Loki (Richard E. Grant), the constantly lying Boastful Loki (DeObia Oparei), a kid variant of Kid Loki (Jack Veal), and Alligator Loki, a Loki. crocodile.

The other Lokis warn Loki that a giant cloud-like creature named Alioth is destroying everything in space. The Lokis flee the Void and encounter Mobius and Sylvie. Mobius decides to return to TVA using Sylvie’s TemPad, but Sylvie remains.

Neither Sylvie nor Loki can stop Alioth, but Classic Loki creates an Asgard illusion to drive Alioth away and dies in the process. Bewitching him, Alioth shows Loki and Sylvie the way to the castle beyond the Void.

Returning to TVA, Renslayer leaves his mission to find Free Will, while the B-15 shows off a variant of Renslayer who is the school’s Deputy Headmaster, showing the other agents that they are variants. At the castle, Loki and Sylvie encounter the One Who Remains (Jonathan Majors).

The One Who Remains informs both of them that he has ended the multiverses war between their variants by using Alioth to destroy alternate timelines and created TVA to keep the peace.

The One Who Remains gives them a choice, kill him and let another multiverse war or take his place as the heads of TVA and a singular timeline.

Loki begs Sylvie not to kill the Remainder. The One Who Remains warns them that their variant is much worse than he is. Sylvie sends Loki back to TVA and kills He Who Remains, freeing up multiple alternate timelines.

In TVA, Loki warns Mobius and B-15 about variants, but neither of them recognize him. Instead, Loki sees the statues of the Timekeeper adorning the walls being replaced by statues of variants of the Remainers.

Loki S1 streams on Disney+. Season 2 will begin in 2023.
